Job Title: Electrical Biased Field Service Engineer

Location: Based out of Leicester (Nationwide Travel Required)

Salary: £40-45,000 per annum

Shifts: 4 on / 4 off - Days & Nights (Including Weekends)

Company Vehicle: Van Provided

Job Overview: We are looking for a skilled and flexible Electrical Biased Field Service Engineer to provide nationwide support across multiple depots. This role involves a mix of hands-on maintenance, troubleshooting electrical systems, and offering technical support via a help desk when required. The ideal candidate will be adaptable, self-motivated, and comfortable working independently.

Key Responsibilities:

  1. Conduct maintenance, fault diagnosis, and repairs on electrical systems in rolling stock and associated equipment.
  2. Provide technical support remotely via a help desk, assisting with fault finding and troubleshooting.
  3. Travel to various depots nationwide to support maintenance teams and resolve technical issues.
  4. Perform preventative and reactive maintenance on electrical and electronic systems.
  5. Work collaboratively with engineers, technicians, and depot teams to ensure efficient service delivery.
  6. Ensure all work is carried out safely and in compliance with industry regulations.
  7. Maintain accurate records of work completed and report on technical issues.

Requirements:

  1. Electrical engineering qualification (NVQ Level 3, City & Guilds, HNC/HND, or equivalent).
  2. Experience working on rolling stock, heavy plant, or industrial electrical systems.
  3. Strong fault-finding and diagnostic skills in electrical and electronic systems.
  4. Ability to travel nationwide as required.
  5. Full UK driving licence (Company van provided).
  6. Comfortable working 4 on / 4 off shifts, including nights and weekends.
  7. Strong communication and customer service skills, both in-person and via help desk support.
