Description
Field Service Technician – You are ideally based within 1 hour of Luton and Stansted Airport
Are you a customer-focused field service technician or Armed Forces Engineer looking to work with complex, life-saving security equipment?
As a Field Service Technician at Leidos, you provide effective and efficient technical and customer support for our complex baggage handling systems at airports, covering the Southern region, including Luton and Stansted airports.
You’re ideally qualified in electrical or mechanical engineering or an equivalent. We are also keen to hear from engineers with an Armed Forces background looking for a new career.
You’ll be the primary engineer working on recently won contracts with a major airport group, installing, commissioning, troubleshooting, repairing, and testing a variety of complex X-ray and CT-based equipment such as body scanners and explosive trace detection systems, many of which are integrated into larger systems.
When the systems are up and running, you will carry out scheduled and unscheduled corrective and preventive maintenance and radiation surveys, reporting any design, reliability, and system bugs and quality issues that may arise, also identifying the Root Cause of repetitive parts failures. You’ll also provide written reports on completed maintenance, machine faults, downtimes, and availability.
You’ll join a national team of 8 close-knit engineers, covering the Northern Region. You enjoy customer interaction, providing great service, customer/technical support, and training.
Why should you join our Field Service Team?
We are problem solvers – we often have to think on our feet to solve engineering problems, minimizing the downtime on the equipment and responding to call-outs at short notice.
We hold great responsibility – not only is our role varied, but we also accept responsibility for ensuring our life-saving solutions are always working seamlessly to give passengers a great experience.
Reward – we offer a competitive package with great benefits from a pension scheme (contribution matched up to 8%), private medical insurance, and life assurance with loads of flexible benefits including dental insurance, gym flex, and shopping discounts. This role also comes with a car/car allowance, overtime, and out-of-hours allowance.
