Job description

Job Description

Field Service Engineers - Why you should apply:

Varied & interesting work: Split your time between travelling overseas troubleshooting customer issues (up to 30% of your time), providing remote support from the Pontypridd office (up to 50% of your time), and developing preventative maintenance, including training customers and documenting troubleshooting methods (up to 30% of your time).

See the world (well, some of it): Spend a maximum of 30% of your time travelling to assist customers, mainly to America but also Europe, North Africa, and East Asia. The company will provide generous travel and meal allowances, and you will receive time off in lieu for any time spent travelling outside of your working hours.

Feel valued: The company strongly focuses on wellbeing; for example, you would not be expected to attend work if you had been travelling until late the previous day. You will spend no more than 5 days at a time away, which provides a great balance between the excitement of travel and your personal life. Overseas trips are usually planned 2-3 weeks in advance.

Secure employer offering development: Work for a growing and progressive business that provides solutions to multiple sectors. They operate a flat structure providing good development opportunities and are happy to support further training and development.

Field service engineer duties will include:

  • Troubleshooting and repairing customer equipment.
  • Helping to develop a preventative maintenance culture.
  • Supporting customers in the reduction of downtime.
  • Providing remote support to customers where needed.
  • Creating product, troubleshooting, and maintenance guides to minimise customer downtime.
  • Travelling internationally to diagnose and fix issues.
  • Collaborating with engineering and support teams to enhance overall company performance.
  • Building strong relationships with customers and clients.

To apply for the field service engineer role, you will need:

  • A level three or above qualification in electrical engineering.
  • The ability to fault find with electrical components such as circuits, resistors, capacitors, harnesses, and looms.
  • Excellent customer-facing communication skills, with a track record of reducing customer downtime.
  • Good Microsoft Office skills.
  • A valid driving license.
  • The ability to travel internationally and qualify for the US ESTA Visa waiver program.

What's In It for You?

A salary of up to £45,000 (depending on experience), a pension plan (5% company contribution), 25 Days of Holiday + Bank Holidays, potential annual bonus based on company performance, all travel costs covered, etc.

Working Hours That Work for You:

You will work a standard 37 hour working week (outside of any time spent travelling).
