£40,000

10% Travel Allowance + Company Car

Are you a skilled field service engineer with a strong installation, maintenance, and commissioning background? Do you want a role which gives you the ability to travel to places such as South America and Europe? Then we want to hear from you. Kingston Barnes is recruiting a Field Service Engineer for one of our clients based in the Bridgwater area.

The Company

The company offers a range of blasting solutions for several industries, such as aerospace, aluminium extrusion and composites. They provide specialist solutions for high value industrial components to customers all over the world.

The Role

As a Field Service Engineer, you will ensure that all the companies' machines are built to rigorous standards and meet customer specifications before dispatch. You will also play a key role in servicing, commissioning, and training customers on machines worldwide.

Key Responsibilities:

  1. Quality Assurance: Inspect and approve machines before shipment.
  2. Machine Commissioning: Set up and calibrate machines to meet original sales parameters.
  3. Servicing & Repairs: Respond to breakdowns, diagnose faults (electrical, mechanical, pneumatic), and carry out retrofits.
  4. Training: Provide operator and maintenance training, either on-site or in a classroom setting.
  5. Customer Support: Act as a trusted technical expert, liaising with colleagues and customers to ensure excellent service.
  6. International Travel: Due to a worldwide customer base, international travel is required.

About You:

Essential:

  1. City & Guilds qualification in an electrical discipline.
  2. Experience in machine maintenance or field service.
  3. Ability to travel internationally independently.
  4. Strong problem-solving skills with a proactive approach.

Desirable:

  1. Experience with Mitsubishi or similar PLC systems (ability to amend PLC programs and fault find).
  2. Knowledge of mechanical and pneumatic systems.
  3. Ability to read and interpret electrical and mechanical drawings.
