Field Service Engineer - Midlands
Location: Midlands, UK (Field-Based)
Employment Type: Permanent | Full-Time

A leading manufacturer of high-precision equipment is seeking an experienced Field Service Engineer to join their UK service team. This is an excellent opportunity for a hands-on engineer who thrives in a field-based environment, enjoys working independently, and has a passion for solving technical challenges.

The Role:

You'll be the face of the company on customer sites across the Midlands, carrying out installation, servicing, repairs, and calibration of specialist precision measuring equipment. While the role is primarily Midlands-based, occasional travel to other regions and overnight stays may be required.

Key Responsibilities:
  1. Install precision measurement equipment at customer premises
  2. Perform scheduled service and calibration work
  3. Diagnose and repair equipment faults
  4. Provide professional, on-site technical support
  5. Maintain accurate records and service documentation
What We're Looking For:
  1. HNC/BTEC (or equivalent) in Mechanical, Electrical or Electronic Engineering - or relevant industry experience
  2. Strong diagnostic and fault-finding skills across electrical and/or mechanical systems
  3. Good IT proficiency and communication skills
  4. Full UK driving licence
  5. Ability to work independently with excellent time management
Desirable:
  1. Experience working with high-precision or technical equipment
  2. Familiarity with troubleshooting both hardware and software systems
  3. A customer-focused approach and strong interpersonal skills
