We now have exciting permanent opportunities for motivated and suitably qualified Field Engineers to join our Technical Communities based in the South West of England. Join us and be part of making a valuable contribution to the mega-infrastructure, Nuclear New Build project at Hinkley Point C (HPC).

Responsibilities:

  1. Check the Works are constructed in accordance with the contract and notify the Construction Superintendent of non-conformance request requirements.
  2. Submit details of any non-conformance request requirements to assist in the issuing of non-conformance reports.
  3. Proactively communicate with other site teams, maintain good communication links and ensure surveillance is timely reported.
  4. Contribute surveillance information to support KPI indicators.
  5. Endeavour to identify potential Quality issues before they arise to enable mitigating actions.
  6. Support team instructions to take temporary measures to mitigate and keep works safe and within Quality standards. Follow up by taking appropriate and proportionate action (e.g. issue communications, call meetings) to prevent the halt of works.
  7. Enhance the team with a good perspective of current and future site activities.
  8. Ensure tasks are developed to quality in accordance with the company’s requirement for health, safety, and environment.
  9. Develop and maintain an understanding of construction drawings, construction activities, Quality Control Plans, and Quality Inspection Records.
  10. Ensure and monitor that Quality Inspection Records are taken and agreed before works are covered up.
  11. Review Contractor performance against the authorised Quality Control Plan.

Knowledge, Skills, Qualifications & Experience:

  1. Knowledge of mechanical engineering principles and practices.
  2. Proficiency in welding processes, metallurgy, and NDT.
  3. Familiarity with industry standards and codes related to welding and mechanical activities.
  4. Experience in weld inspection on large construction projects.
  5. A minimum of HND in a Civil / Mechanical Engineering qualification or equivalent vocational training and experience.
  6. A welding inspector qualification (e.g. CSWIP 3.1 or equivalent) as well as a basic appreciation of NDT.
  7. Good working knowledge of Quality Management practices, methods, and processes.

*Salary dependent on experience.*

Due to the nature of the work, candidates will be required to undergo a Basic Security clearance (BPSS) and must have Independent Right to Work in the UK.
