Field Bakery NPD Specialist

£40,000 - £45,000 plus car allowance (£5k)

You will be working for a high-quality food manufacturer in the baking industry. They pride themselves on their BRC Grade A production facility, supplying products to their customer base all over the UK.

About the Field Bakery NPD Specialist job

The purpose of your role will be to drive new opportunities for our bakery products with industrial and wholesale clients. You'll take the lead on product demos, develop briefs for custom products, and oversee trials, guiding NPD samples from concept to final approval.

Key tasks

  1. Demonstrate the companies products to strategic and key accounts (industrial bakers, large bakery chains, wholesalers) while providing technical advice, troubleshooting, and resolving customer issues.
  2. Lead and support customers in developing new products using the companies range, attending factory trials and first productions, and preparing detailed briefs for NPD projects with a focus on profitable, volume-driven opportunities.
  3. Prepare new products to gain customer buy-in, manage relationships with key accounts, and collaborate with sales, marketing, and product teams to ensure excellent technical service.
  4. Manage visit reports, project briefs, and planners while supporting customer and industry events as required, ensuring clear communication with the Heads of Product, Sales Director, and MRD Director.

About You

  1. BSC (Hons) in Bakery, Bakery Technology or Food Science is preferred or bakery experience in a similar role in food manufacturing.
  2. Baking experience; working with various channels of customers including craft, industrial manufacturers or food service.
  3. Strong understanding of baking processes and functional ingredients i.e enzymes, improvers etc.

More details

The Field Bakery NPD Specialist job (ref:8779) is a home-based role with expected travel for 2-3 days per week, across the UK. Some European travel will be expected upon occasion. The role is paying £40,000 - 45,000 plus car allowance (£5k) according to your experience.
