Field Assistant (Lab & Field Experience)

Field Assistant, Belfast, £12.21 per hour

Hays are working with a public sector organisation to recruit a Field Trial Assistant on a temporary basis.

Your new role
The role is a mix of field and laboratory-based administrative duties:

1. Assisting scientific staff with field trials, measuring and collecting agronomic data.
2. Manual fieldwork in all weather.
3. Data input and management.
4. Familiarity with laboratory procedures and working to set protocols advantageous.
5. Working to agreed deadlines and keeping a clean and safe working environment.
6. Ensuring good quality working practice.
7. The post holder will be required to be sufficiently fit to work outdoors for extended periods i.e. bending/stretching, standing/walking and a significant amount of manual handling of plant materials for analysis.

What you'll need to succeed
Field work experience.
Data handling experience.
Experience of working in teams.
Applicants must have a full driving license, and a personal vehicle is preferable, to travel to and from different locations.

What you'll get in return
£12.21 per hour
Available to commence either start of April or May
Temporary for 5 - 6 months
35 or 30 hours per week
Belfast
