About Norwood:

Founded in 1795, Norwood is the oldest Jewish charity in the UK, and has been privileged to receive Royal Patronage since 1815. We support and empower neurodiverse children and their families and people with neurodevelopmental disabilities to live their best lives.

Norwood works with local authorities to deliver wide-ranging services including residential and supported living accommodation and short-breaks facilities, as well as a range of support groups aimed at the whole family, not just the individual.

Pamela Barnett is a residential home which supports sixteen people who are aged from their early twenties to their late sixties. All have severe learning disabilities, autism and physical support needs. The majority of the people we support do not communicate verbally. Instead, they use alternative methods of communication, i.e. Makaton, objects of reference, verbal sounds, facial expressions and body language.

All of the people living in Pamela Barnett require a high level of support in all aspects of their lives including personal care, eating & drinking, mealtimes and activities. They have varied hobbies and interests such as swimming, horse riding, trampolining, arts and crafts, baking, sensory sessions, music sessions, bingo, karaoke, meals out, theatre and cinema trips, bowling, walks, bike rides, music festivals and concerts, boat trips, skiing, tobogganing and holidays.
