An established industry player is seeking compassionate individuals to join a personal care team. This role involves providing essential daily assistance to a lady in her 50s, ensuring her independence and comfort at home. Candidates will receive comprehensive training, making this an excellent opportunity for those looking to make a meaningful impact. Flexible shifts are available, accommodating both full-time and part-time schedules. With competitive pay rates and the chance to work closely with a supportive individual, this position is perfect for anyone passionate about care and support. If you are reliable and eager to help, this role could be a great fit for you.
I am a lady in my 50s with a cat and three adult daughters. I use a wheelchair to get around the house and require personal assistance to enable me to be independent.
I am looking for 2-4 new employees to join my care team and fill available shifts (the number of hires depends on how many shifts applicants want to work and whether they prefer part-time or full-time). You will work privately for me, with monthly pay organized via Enham Trust using Direct Payments.
No experience is necessary – all training will be provided during working hours and paid at the usual rate.
You will assist me in my daily activities, so that I am able to access what I need and move around the house. I will always be communicating and instructing, and I will tell you everything that I need during the shift.
To give you an idea of what assistance is required during each shift, I have roughly outlined my usual routine below.
The night shift is a sleeping shift. It involves helping me get ready for bed, personal care using a hoist, helping me relieve leg cramps during the night when they wake me up, and helping me get out of bed in the morning. There is a bedroom adjacent to mine where you can sleep, and I will usually call a couple of times per night for 5 minutes of assistance.
An afternoon shift involves helping me use the toilet using a hoist, helping me adjust my seating position in my wheelchair, and doing light housework and providing assistance preparing food.
A morning shift involves assistance with my physiotherapy exercises, helping me do housework, and occasionally preparing food.
