Fashion Designer, Fashion Illustrator

The Pacific Design Academy is seeking a Fashion Illustration and Design instructor to teach classes on a part-time basis. As an instructor, you will have a strong background in fashion design, with a focus on illustration techniques and creative design. This role involves teaching, mentoring students, and contributing to curriculum development.

Key Responsibilities:

• Teach courses in fashion illustration, fashion design, and creative concept development.
• Instruct students on various techniques such as sketching, color rendering, and digital illustration tools like Adobe Illustrator, Photoshop, or other relevant design software.
• Stay current with fashion trends, techniques, and technology to keep course material relevant.
• Ability to create patterns and flats.

Qualifications:

• A degree or diploma in Fashion Design, Fashion Illustration, or a related field.
• Minimum of two years of professional experience in the fashion industry or fashion education.
• Expertise in fashion illustration, both hand-drawn and digital techniques.
• Proficiency in Adobe Creative Suite (Illustrator, Photoshop) or other relevant design software.

Preferred Skills:

• Knowledge of current fashion trends and industry best practices.
• Ability to inspire and motivate students.
• Strong portfolio showcasing both professional work and student outcomes (if applicable).
• Experience with fashion shows or industry events would be an asset.
• Excellent written and verbal communication skills.
• Effective organizational and analytical skills.
• Demonstrate independent judgment and initiative.
