Family Health Medical Deployment Officer

York and Scarborough Teaching Hospitals NHS Foundation Trust

We are looking for a motivated individual to liaise daily with our medical teams across York and Scarborough sites to ensure our medical rotas are safely and efficiently staffed. You should have excellent organisational and communication skills.

Main duties of the job

You will provide comprehensive, efficient, and effective administrative support by efficiently deploying Consultant and Senior/Junior Doctors across the Care Group. This will involve close liaison with Consultants, Senior/Junior Doctors, and the Care Group Management Team. You will be responsible for providing and coordinating rotas, ensuring cover is arranged for all vacant shifts.

Person Specification

Aptitude and Personal Qualities

  • Confident and self-motivated.
  • Able to establish positive working relationships at all levels.
  • Manage own time effectively.
  • Customer service focused.

Education, Qualifications and Training

  • Educated to A Level Standard or equivalent or GCSE Maths and English (Grades A-C).
  • At least 1 year's administration experience.
  • ECDL.

Experience and Knowledge Required

  • Confident & effective user of MS Office packages including Word, Outlook/NHS Mail, and Excel. Including ability to accurately undertake data entry.
  • Proven ability to prioritise and manage changing and/or conflicting deadlines.
  • Understanding of rotas and staffing requirements.

Skills and Attributes

  • Strong organisational skills.
  • Demonstrates commitment to customer service excellence.
  • Effective communicator with all levels of staff.
