Job Title: Factory Hygiene Specialist -
Location: Sudbury, Suffolk
Salary: £40,000 - £45,000 Depending on Experience plus companywide benefits

Position Summary

We have an exciting opportunity for a Factory Hygienist to join our team at the facility in Sudbury. We seek an individual ready to embrace the challenge of making a visible and sustainable impact on our operations to ensure Good Manufacturing Practices (GMP) in our production processes.

In this role, you will be a vital member of the Quality team, ensuring that all Nestlé requirements for food safety, quality, and hygiene are consistently applied across the production lines.

A Day in the Life of a Factory Hygienist

Your responsibilities in this role will include but not be limited to:

  • Drive the pathogen improvement plan to enhance food safety and hygiene standards.
  • Lead and manage hygiene-related projects to ensure continuous improvement and compliance with Nestlé's hygiene requirements.
  • Develop, document, and support factory GMP and hygiene standards to ensure compliance.
  • Act as the key contact for the Quality department regarding all hygiene topics.
  • Engage effectively with factory stakeholders at all levels to promote a culture of hygiene and food safety.
  • Maintain pest control programs to Nestlé standards and act as the Integrated Pest Management (IPM) Champion.
  • Analyse data trends related to hygiene practices and prepare reports to communicate findings and recommendations for improvement.
  • Work closely with production and maintenance teams to integrate hygiene practices into their processes.
  • Support the factory with internal audits to ensure compliance with relevant standards.
  • Audit Factory external warehouses to ensure they meet Nestlé's hygiene requirements and standards.
  • Monitor and maintain hygiene equipment and supplies, ensuring that cleaning tools are available and in good working condition.

Further Skills and Experience Required:

  • Strong understanding of general food safety and hygiene principles, with knowledge of factory floor operations.
  • A keen eye for detail and the ability to identify potential hygiene risks or areas for improvement.
  • Effective communication skills for collaborating with team members and reporting hygiene-related issues or concerns.
  • Experience in problem-solving activities.
  • Familiarity with regulatory standards in the food industry to ensure compliance with local and international food safety regulations.
  • Strong skills in Microsoft Excel for data analysis, trending, and reporting.
