Facilities and Mechanical Engineer

Based in Birmingham – 3 Month temporary contract

Monday to Fridays Day Shift

Outside IR35 - £30ph

This world-renowned manufacturing company is currently going through a dramatic growth period and following this success a new opportunity is available. The business is now looking for a Facilities and Mechanical Engineer to ensure the upkeep of the building and the assembly and refurbishment of specific mechanical components.

The day-to-day responsibilities of the Facilities and Mechanical Engineer will involve the following:

  • Perform planned and reactive maintenance on facility systems, including boilers, pumps, and HVAC equipment.
  • Troubleshoot and repair mechanical components to ensure operational efficiency.
  • Conduct fitting and installation work on plant equipment and infrastructure.
  • Support general facilities upkeep, ensuring compliance with safety and operational standards.
  • Inspect, test, and maintain site utilities, including water, compressed air, and heating systems.
  • Collaborate with other teams to address cross-functional maintenance needs.

The Facilities and Mechanical Engineer must possess the following skills and experience:

  • A recognized Mechanical Qualification is essential.
  • Proven experience in facilities maintenance and mechanical fitting in an industrial or manufacturing environment.
  • Familiarity with boiler operation and pump maintenance is highly desirable.
  • Basic welding and fabrication skills are advantageous.
  • Strong troubleshooting and problem-solving skills.

The benefits of this contract are as follows:

  • Monday to Friday Day shifts
  • 40 hours per week available
  • Outside IR35
