Job Description:
Here at Hitachi Rail, we are seeking dedicated and experienced Facilities Technicians to join our Train Maintenance Centre in Edinburgh.
Location: Craigentinny Train Maintenance Centre
Salary: £42,218
5% Shift allowance
£3000 Location allowance
Contract Type: Permanent
Accountabilities
In this pivotal role, you will oversee the maintenance and diagnostics of site plant and infrastructure. You will play a proactive part in ensuring that the infrastructure is upheld to the standards established by the Facilities & Infrastructure Manager.
Key responsibilities:
As a Facilities Technician, you will:
Manage departmental procurement, including creating and managing purchase requisitions (PRs) and orders (POs).
Conduct risk assessments related to site maintenance activities.
Uphold company safety policies and procedures in all tasks.
Create and manage any SAP items, as required for the purposes of governance, such as:
Help investigate accidents and incidents as required by line manager.
Provide assistance in implementing and maintaining departmental records and procedures.
Support waste management as needed for the site, liaising between the contractors and the site staff.
Provide support / assistance to external contractors as directed by line manager.
Ensure that any issues concerning site plant equipment and infrastructure are reported in a timely manner to the line manager.
To provide support in the preparation of any required compliance works.
To be the deputy responsible person regarding L8.
To assist in the training / induction of new personnel. This includes escorting visitors and contractors around site as required.
Liaison with Hitachi and external personnel as required completing the duties of the post. This includes management of third party contractors on site.
Assist as required, with different departments as directed by line manager.
Be aware of and actively promote and implement Hitachi’s ethos, culture and values.
To be involved in Hitachi Rail Europe’s staff development and training and participate in PDP.
