The project:

Mace has several asset replacement projects within its infrastructure portfolio. The projects range from £3m to £10m and are located within the passenger terminal environment. Projects include:

  • Energy demand management including replacement of light fittings and baggage conveyor motors.
  • Replacement of the flooring within the terminal international departures lounge.
  • Chiller replacement programme.

The scope is a part of the framework afforded to Mace in 2022 and will continue until 2032 (minimum). The senior project manager will be a key part of our asset replacement team at Heathrow Airport during the forthcoming period of growth. We will be receiving further commissions in the next year ranging from MEP services replacement to the complete fit out of various terminal areas.

  • You will manage delivery from project inception/brief, through design development and planning, contractor procurement and construction phase in accordance with the overall delivery program and agreed project milestones.
  • You will manage tasks and associated deliverables in support of the asset management team, alongside the wider portfolio and client teams, to ensure the timely and accurate delivery of the project.

  • You will manage design and wider consultant teams in a collaborative manner to ensure effective completion of responsibilities.
  • You will lead and manage the project team and relevant stakeholders to achieve strategic project key performance indicators (KPIs).
  • You will actively network, innovate, and seek understanding of best practice, utilising the full depth of knowledge of the infrastructure business unit, Mace group, the centres of excellence, Mace way control centre and knowledge hub.

You'll need to have:

  • Experience of working in the airport airside environment.
  • Experience of constructing in the live passenger environment, such as terminal buildings, rail stations, shopping centres, bus terminus etc.
  • Experience of facilities management, including the project management of a number of small projects at the same time.

You'll also have:

  • Membership of RICS, CIOB, APM, ICE or equivalent demonstrable professional or personal development.
  • Substantial experience in the successful delivery phase of projects and programmes in the facilities management sector.
  • Property or infrastructure project management expertise.
  • An understanding of Prima Vera P6 scheduling software.
  • Commercial and financial acumen.
  • Experience of leading parts of projects within large, diverse teams.
  • Experience of developing and forming relationships with senior stakeholders.
  • Knowledge of how carbon and sustainability considerations will shape the outlook of the projects you are working on.
