Facilities Manager

The Facilities Manager is responsible for leading all aspects of Facilities management across site. Working with their team to:

1. Generate strategic plans for next 1-3yrs for the department
2. Manage department annual budget of >£3million
3. Build and manage an Asset Health register.
4. Lead projects for the department.
5. Create development plans for team growth.
6. Maintain compliance in PM and Statutory works.
7. Co-ordinate day-to-day reactive breakdowns.
8. Manage Hard and Soft service contract services.
9. This role will also play a leading part in developing/delivering our ESG Roadmap to support our business commitment to reduce carbon emissions.

The role will be a combination of office and shop floor-based work, actively involved in breakdowns and driving the management, fast resolve and high standard of fixes whilst also leading, developing, and coaching the Facilities Team to achieve exceptional standards within the department. The Facilities Lead will work hand in hand with all other Leads to communicate, prioritise and direct all technical matters that affect production.

Key Requirements

1. Time served engineer
2. Considerable knowledge and experience in manufacturing engineering is essential
3. Knowledge of control systems, programming and technical fault finding is essential
4. Expert knowledge in mechanical/electrical and pneumatic systems
5. Previous experience of improvement projects and leading teams
6. Experience in a highly regulated maintenance environment is essential
7. Management experience within a maintenance framework would be a distinct advantage
8. Must be proficient with PC programs i.e. Office (Excel, Word, and PowerPoint), Statistical tools like Minitab or Jump, Project Mgmt (Microsoft Project, etc.), SAP.
9. Self-motivation and flexibility of job assignments

11. Strong interpersonal and written communication skills
12. Results and data orientated
13. Driven attitude with the ability to hold high working standards and challenge when required
14. Must be able to build a strong working relationship with employees on the shop floor

Qualifications/Education

1. Time served engineer (electrical & mechanical).
2. Six Sigma Green Belt (preferred)
3. Engineering Degree/HNC or higher - similar qualifications will be considered
4. C&G 2391 inspection and testing/similar qualifications would be advantageous
