Job Description

Job purpose:

To support the facilities team in looking after our premises, coordinating maintenance activities and maintaining compliance with the required Health & Safety and Good Manufacturing Practice regulations. Some driving between sites in a company vehicle is a necessary part of the role (Over to Swavesey, 5 miles).

Responsibilities:

Plan and coordinate internal yearly / monthly / weekly checks. Included but not limited to:

  1. Weekly fire alarm checks
  2. CCTV checks
  3. Pest control monitoring
  4. Generator checks and test runs
  5. PAT testing
  6. Racking inspections
  7. Hot and cold water tap checks
  8. Emergency lighting test
  9. Emergency exit checks
  10. Basic facilities maintenance and repair

Manage facilities related purchases and deliveries such as:

  1. Monitor, replenish and re-order refreshments in a timely manner across the three company buildings
  2. Purchase new office equipment
  3. Order miscellaneous office consumables and computer peripherals
  4. Assist in warehouse / reception if required

Schedule and book external contractors for all facilities related issues including:

  1. Fire and intruder alarm servicing
  2. Door access control
  3. Emergency lighting servicing
  4. Air conditioning and HVAC servicing and preventative maintenance
  5. Facilities cleaning
  6. Cold room maintenance
  7. Five year electrical testing
  8. Boiler servicing
  9. Fire extinguisher expiration and servicing
  10. Building Management System (BMS) servicing
  11. Gutter cleaning
  12. Ladder inspections
  13. Legionella testing
  14. Roller shutter servicing
  15. Lift and lifting equipment servicing (LOLER)

Other responsibilities:

  1. Assist with any basic maintenance / repair or equipment assembly within the job holder's capabilities.
  2. To undertake any other appropriate roles and responsibilities as requested that reasonably fall within the role holder’s skills and experience.

Person Specification:

  1. Strong organisational skills and excellent attention to detail.
  2. Ability to maintain accurate logs / basic records.
  3. Intermediate level experience with Microsoft Excel.
  4. Capability in creating new templates for lists and action logs.
  5. Strong written and verbal communication skills.
  6. Comfortable telephoning and coordinating actions with external contractors.
  7. Willingness to learn and take instruction, training will be provided wherever necessary.
  8. Team player with a can do attitude.
  9. Must hold a full clean driver’s licence.
  10. Must hold the right to work in the UK.
