Pay rate:
Day Shift - £15.64 / Hr.
Night Shift - £20.86 / Hr.
Overtime - £23.46 / Hr. (First ten hours).
Overtime - £31.29 / Hr. (After ten hours overtime).
Hours of work: 37.5 hours per week Monday to Thursday.
(Set shift pattern of 9.75 hours on a Monday and 9.25 hours per day Tuesday - Thursday)

Timings

Days: Monday: 07:00 - 17:15, Tues - Thurs: 07:00 - 16:45
Nights: Monday: 21:00 - 07:15, Tues - Thurs: 21:00 - 06:45
Must be willing to work day and night shifts.
Start Date: ASAP

Responsibilities

1. Performs a variety of welding processes i.e. MMA/MIG and gas welding, brazing and soldering on various types of materials encountered in the special order base and container build area.
2. Formal apprenticeship or NVQ Level 3 or equivalent in fabrication/welding discipline.
3. Performs welding operations on silencers, bases and containers without the aid of detailed prints, instructions or fixtures.
4. Fabricates, modifies and/or rework various types of special tankers, skid bases, silencers and containers used in the production of generator sets and associated hardware.
5. Interprets prints, plan methods and sequence of work.
6. Compliance with safety and quality standards.
7. Compliance with 5S programme and other business improvement initiatives.
8. Display behaviour and conduct fitting with our Values in Action.
9. Train other employees if and when required.
10. Any other appropriate duties.

Required Qualifications

1. Formal apprenticeship or NVQ Level 3 or equivalent in fabrication/welding discipline.
2. The ability to follow and comprehend verbal, specific and detailed procedures and work instructions as well as difficult arithmetic calculations in order to perform the duties described above.
3. The ability to be able to read and interpret schematic drawings and sequences of assembly prints.
4. Ability to work reasonable amounts of overtime and various shift patterns.

Desired Qualifications

1. Previous experience working in a lean environment.
2. Ability to use slinging equipment and cranes to transport work and to use a measuring tape and/or square to check work.
3. Ability to work from heights.
4. Strong customer focus.
5. Attention to detail to meet quality standards.
6. Ability to prioritise and organise sequence of work.
