Job Description

Our client specialises in installing all types of mechanical plants for the Water industry across the UK. They offer services including water & wastewater treatment, including design, fabrication, site installation and testing. Due to ongoing success, they are looking to recruit an experienced Fabrication Workshop Manager to join their team.

(Fabrication Workshop Manager) - Position Overview

  1. Lead, plan, coordinate, and execute steelwork projects from enquiry to completion.
  2. Manage project budgets, schedules, and resources to ensure on-time delivery within budget constraints.
  3. Liaise with internal Project Managers, Clients, Engineers, subcontractors, and suppliers to ensure project requirements are met and expectations are exceeded.
  4. Oversee the procurement of materials and subcontractor services, negotiating contracts and agreements as required.
  5. Monitor progress, resolve issues, and ensure compliance with safety and quality standards.
  6. Prepare and maintain documentation to BS EN 1090 and EN ISO 3834.
  7. Identify and mitigate project risks, implementing strategies to minimize disruptions.
  8. Foster positive relationships with clients and stakeholders, addressing concerns and promoting customer satisfaction.

(Fabrication Workshop Manager) - Position Requirements

  1. Proven Manager in the construction industry, with a focus on steel fabrication and installation, and have a strong understanding of steelwork processes, techniques, and regulations.
  2. Possess excellent project management skills, with the ability to manage multiple projects simultaneously.
  3. Effective communication and negotiation abilities, with a customer-focused approach.
  4. Experienced Responsible Welding Coordinator (RWC).
  5. Strong man management skills including effective team leadership, conflict resolution, and performance management.
  6. Certification in Distribution Operation Maintenance Strategy (DOMS) and Water Hygiene (advantageous).
  7. Construction Skills Certification Scheme (CSCS) card (advantageous).

(Fabrication Workshop Manager) - Position Remuneration

  1. Salary £55,000 - £60,000 (DOE).
  2. Workwear provided.
  3. Life Assurance & Health Care Benefits.
  4. Up to 25 days of annual leave plus 8 bank holidays.
  5. Company pension scheme.
  6. Progression opportunities.
  7. 40 hours per week 8am-5pm (Monday-Thursday) & 8am-3pm (Friday).
