Fabric Engineer - Facilities Maintenance - Edinburgh

FM Search & Select Ltd is looking for an experienced Fabric Engineer to join a leading facilities management company, providing maintenance services across commercial buildings in Edinburgh and the East. This role is perfect for a multi-skilled professional with experience in general building maintenance, repairs, and compliance checks.

Package:

1. £32,000 - £34,000
2. Company vehicle & fuel card
3. On call allowance
4. Monday - Friday 8am - 4.30pm
5. 25 days annual leave plus bank holidays

Responsibilities:

1. Carry out planned and reactive maintenance on commercial buildings, including joinery, basic plumbing, painting, and general repairs
2. Inspect and repair doors, windows, flooring, ceilings, and fixtures to ensure a safe working environment
3. Assist with minor electrical and mechanical works where required
4. Complete compliance checks such as fire door inspections and emergency lighting tests
5. Work closely with other FM engineers to ensure smooth service delivery
6. Maintain accurate records of work completed and liaise with clients as needed

Qualifications & Skills:

1. Previous experience as a Fabric Engineer, Maintenance Technician, or Joiner within a facilities or commercial maintenance environment
2. Strong knowledge of carpentry, basic plumbing, painting, and general repairs
3. Ability to work independently and as part of a team
4. Health & Safety awareness and knowledge of compliance regulations
5. Full UK driving licence
