Job description

Are you a skilled Fabric Engineer seeking a rewarding role in a healthcare setting? We are looking for an experienced professional to maintain and repair the building fabric of a large healthcare facility in Bristol. This position offers a competitive salary, shift flexibility, and the opportunity to contribute to the maintenance of vital healthcare services.


Key Responsibilities:

  1. Carry out planned and reactive maintenance on the building fabric, including plastering, carpentry, painting, and minor repairs.
  2. Ensure that the healthcare facility remains safe and fully operational by maintaining walls, ceilings, doors, and other structural elements.
  3. Respond promptly to emergency repairs, minimising disruption to critical healthcare services.
  4. Perform routine inspections and preventative maintenance to ensure the building meets all relevant safety and compliance standards.
  5. Work collaboratively with other tradespeople and the facilities management team to ensure smooth operation and quick resolution of issues.
  6. Ensure all work is performed in line with health and safety regulations, particularly in sensitive healthcare environments.

What We Offer:

  1. Salary: £28,000 per annum.
  2. Holidays: 24 days + 8 bank holidays.
  3. Shifts: Rotating early, mid, and late shifts to support 24/7 operations.

Requirements:

  1. Proven experience as a Fabric Engineer or Multi-Skilled Engineer, ideally within a healthcare or similar environment.
  2. Strong skills in general building maintenance, including carpentry, plastering, tiling, and painting.
  3. Familiarity with health and safety standards, including experience working in regulated environments like hospitals or care facilities.
  4. Ability to work shifts, including early, mid, and late rotations.
  5. Excellent communication and team-working skills.
  6. A proactive approach to problem-solving and maintenance.
  7. Valid UK driving licence.
