Job description

Our partner primary schools across Sheffield are currently looking for several Teaching Assistants to join our team, with a focus on those who have experience in EYFS. However, opportunities in KS1 and KS2 are also available. The role will involve supporting children aged 3-5, with a particular focus on one-on-one and small group support.

Key Responsibilities:
  • Supporting Children's Learning: Assist the teacher in delivering educational activities aligned with the EYFS curriculum, helping children develop foundational skills in areas such as literacy, numeracy, communication, and personal growth.
  • Providing Individual Support: Offer one-on-one or small group support to children, particularly those with additional needs or requiring extra assistance.
  • Promoting Positive Behaviour: Aid in managing classroom behaviour by encouraging positive actions, reinforcing good behaviour, and ensuring children feel safe and supported.
  • Preparing Learning Materials: Help set up and prepare resources and materials before and after lessons, ensuring a smooth and effective learning environment.
  • Observing and Assessing: Observe children’s development, track their progress, and provide feedback to the teacher, including informal assessments of children’s skills, behaviours, and needs.
