Job Description

Ackerman Pierce works closely with County Councils and Schools to provide one-to-one tutoring for children waiting for school placements. The children we are looking to support have a range of additional complex needs, and so we are seeking experienced SEN/HLTA's/tutors/teachers.

We are currently recruiting for Specialist Outreach educators and support staff to provide face-to-face provision to students who need access to Alternative provision, this could be due to SEND/SEMH, so experience in this is required. The role is to start ASAP.

  • Location: Saffron Walden, Essex
  • Position: Outreach teaching assistant, supporting a tutor
  • Start date: ASAP
  • End date (if applicable): ongoing
  • Contract type: Temporary
  • 10 hours per week
  • Rate of pay: £18 - £23 per hour
  • Hours: Tuition takes place between 9:30am and 12pm Monday to Thursday

We are looking for candidates who are:

  • Available during school hours up to 10 hours per week.
  • Experienced in delivering differentiated National Curriculum core subjects.
  • Experienced teaching young people with a wide range of complex and challenging needs including SEMH/ASC/MLD/SpLD.
  • Have exceptional behaviour management strategies.
  • Prepared to work face-to-face within the community.

Requirements:

  • Background working in Education, ideally supporting as a TA/LSA/HLTA.
  • Experience working with ASD/EBD/SEMH and associated complex needs.
  • Two years previous experience working within a UK school/education setting.
