Sutton upon Derwent Church of England Primary School is a loving school family. We are federated with Bugthorpe Church of England Primary School and have staff that work across both sites. We share our Executive Headteacher, SENCo, Business Manager, ELSA and Environmental Tutor (Gardening and Forest Schools Teacher). We work together as one to deliver a creative curriculum that inspires our pupils to follow their pathways and grow with confidence.
Both schools received a 'Good' Ofsted Inspection in 2022; Sutton upon Derwent received a very positive SIAMS inspection report in February 2025.
Our Federation: We follow a shared curriculum, have staff meetings together on Microsoft Teams to share planning, resources and best practice, work in Subject Leadership Teams together across the Federation, share a school minibus which we utilise for educational visits, and visit each other's classes in the sister school. All of this collaborative work enables both pupils and adults to flourish in our small, rural schools.
Our Class system: Class 1 (Nursery and Reception); Class 2 (Years 1 and 2); Class 3 (Years 3 and 4); Class 4 (Years 5 and 6). This job is to be the Class Teacher in our Nursery and Reception classroom.
We are delighted to offer the following role in our school for September 2025:
