This is an expression of interest ahead of AMP8. We are open to speaking with potential Principal Electrical Engineers to join our teams in Edinburgh or Glasgow, where you will grow our reputation within the local community and Water Business by providing EICA design services for a range of projects.

We are excited by our growth prospects, and this is a good opportunity to join an experienced and ambitious team who will provide you with plenty of support and opportunities for career progression.

The successful candidate will be involved in the whole project life cycle from optioneering through to detailed design and installation. You will also be involved with feasibility studies, site surveys, and investigations.

As an experienced EICA Engineer, you will hold responsibility for working and liaising with project managers, technical leaders, design engineers, clients, supply chain partners, contractors, planners, and other stakeholders to achieve positive outcomes for the projects and community. You will understand how water treatment processes operate and be experienced in assessing the existing electrical and ICA infrastructure to develop and deliver the EICA design.

Stantec provides a number of opportunities to learn and develop from colleagues across the whole UK business. As a Principal EICA Engineer, you will help develop the team by acting as a mentor, line manager, or guide to less experienced members within the team.

About You

  • The successful candidate will be an EICA Engineer who is Chartered or Incorporated with the IET with experience of EICA design.
  • You will be experienced in writing technical specifications, control philosophies, schedules, reports, and be familiar with collaborative reviews and designs of solutions.
  • You will be able to produce Single Line Diagrams, Block Cable Diagrams, Network Infrastructure Diagrams as well as providing engineering input to collaborative design outputs, such as General Arrangement Drawings, 3D models, and Process & Instrumentation Diagrams.
  • To be successful in this role, you will have strong communication skills to give technical presentations to clients and other design engineers as well as inputting into collaborative design discussions including technical workshops, HAZOPs, and ALMs.
  • Most importantly, you will embody and support our values of client focus, designing with community in mind, collaboration, and service excellence.
