Job description

Job Title: Export Control Officer

Location: Glascoed, South Wales; Radway Green, Crewe; Washington, Tyne & Wear; Bishopton, Renfrewshire; or Ridsdale, Hexham

Salary: £42,132

What you'll be doing:

  1. Leading export control project compliance and communication into each individual area across the business
  2. Being a key point of contact for day to day advice and guidance within the business on export control regulatory and procedure requirements
  3. Undertaking the implementation of export control policies and procedures in support of the Export Control Manager
  4. Providing expertise in the audit and assurance process ensuring that compliance controls are being adhered to across all business sites, projects and functions
  5. Undertaking export control investigations from capture to resolution and supporting the Export Control Manager
  6. Supporting export control improvement activities and maintaining accurate export control records for compliance purposes

Your skills and experiences:

Essential:

  1. Understanding and experience in application of all relevant export control and import-export laws and regulations e.g.: ITAR (State department), EAR (Export Administration Regulations - Commerce department) and UK Export Controls
  2. Experience working in an export control role, preferably within the defence sector
  3. Ability to engage at all levels, with Group Export Control and Export Control Teams in all other business units and ensure interaction with Internal Audit and external auditors

Desirable:

  1. A good standard of computer literacy
  2. Experience using SAP
