Donview Veterinary Centre is looking for an experienced veterinary surgeon to join our friendly, social team – where we pride ourselves on our teamwork and supportive environment.
We are a genuinely mixed practice, with a focus on work-life balance, allowing you to enjoy the nearby mountains, sea, and city. Normal working hours are between 0845 and 1730 over a 4-day working week, with 6.6 weeks annual leave per annum.
We are proud to offer our own out-of-hours service, 1:8 OOH (to increase when the role is filled). With 2 vets on call at all times – one as primary responder, the second as additional support if required. Vets are compensated with a 4-day long weekend after every weekend on call, as well as an additional mid-rota long weekend, plus additional cash benefit per out-of-hours call.
We have a structured rota ensuring each vet a guaranteed mix of farm, equine, and small animal work, with set operating days included to allow time to work up individual cases to a high standard. 15-minute consults in bite-sized consulting blocks as standard. We hold biweekly clinical meetings to allow for case discussion and collaboration, or just a catch-up!
We have a large team of experienced nurses, and an excellent range of up-to-date kit across all species – including equine and small animal video endoscopes, sector and linear ultrasound scanners for farm and equine work, high-quality small animal ultrasound, digital x-ray (including dental and mobile for equine), and more.
The ideal candidate would have an interest in all areas (farm, equine, and small animal) but would have the freedom and support to build on any field that especially interests them. CPD is actively encouraged with a generous allowance, and professional fees and subscriptions are paid for. Car available if required.
Please send a CV to Katie or Laurie by clicking Apply, or simply finding out more about us! You can also visit our website www.donviewvets.co.uk for further information about the practice.
We are committed to providing a fair recruitment process with equality of opportunity for all, and our vacancies are open to those from all backgrounds.
