Pay Rate: £89 - £110 per day (dependent on experience & responsibilities)
Settings: Primary, Secondary & Post-16/College
Focus: High Levels of Challenging Behaviour / SEMH / Behavioural Needs

Are you a skilled Teaching Assistant with experience in PRU settings? Are you passionate about making a real difference in the lives of young people who need tailored support to thrive? Axcis Education – the UK's leading SEND recruitment specialist – is looking to register experienced PRU Teaching Assistants for immediate and ongoing roles across Greater Manchester and surrounding areas.

The Role:

We work in partnership with a wide range of alternative provisions, PRUs, SEMH schools, and behaviour units that support students who are no longer in mainstream education due to persistent challenging behaviour, trauma, or complex social, emotional and mental health (SEMH) needs. You will be supporting students aged 5–19, working either 1:1 or in small groups, helping them regulate behaviour, engage in learning, and develop social and emotional resilience. Every day is different, and your impact will be immediate and meaningful.

Ideal Candidates Will Have:
  1. Experience working in a PRU or similar alternative provision
  2. Confidence managing challenging behaviours and de-escalating situations
  3. Understanding of trauma-informed approaches and SEMH needs
  4. Ability to build trust and strong relationships with vulnerable learners
  5. A calm, resilient and empathetic nature
  6. Team Teach or similar behaviour management training (desirable but not essential)
