We are seeking a passionate and experienced Operations Manager to lead the establishment and operation of our new home. This is an exciting opportunity to shape a positive, nurturing environment from the ground up and make a lasting impact on the lives of vulnerable children.

The Role:
As the Operations Manager, you will be assisting the Registered Manager, who will be responsible for all aspects of managing the home, from setting up the service to ensuring the highest standards of care are delivered in line with regulatory requirements. You will lead and inspire a team, working closely with external agencies, professionals, and families to provide tailored care to meet the individual needs of each child.

Key Responsibilities:

  • Lead the registration process with Ofsted and ensure compliance with all relevant regulations and standards.
  • Develop and implement policies, procedures, and care plans that meet the needs of each child and promote their welfare.
  • Recruit, train, and manage a dedicated team of care professionals.
  • Foster a positive, safe, and supportive environment where children feel valued and empowered.
  • Oversee the day-to-day running of the home, including budgeting, resource management, and staff rotas.
  • Work in partnership with local authorities, social workers, and external agencies to ensure the best outcomes for the children.
  • Ensure the safeguarding of all residents and that all staff follow safeguarding policies rigorously.

Requirements:

  • Minimum of 2 years’ experience in a management role within a children’s residential care setting.
  • Level 5 Diploma in Leadership and Management for Residential Childcare (or working towards).
  • Experience of successfully leading and managing within a regulatory framework, ideally in setting up a new children’s home.
  • Strong understanding of Ofsted regulations and care standards.
  • Excellent leadership, communication, and organizational skills.
  • A passion for working with children and a commitment to their well-being and development.
