Position Summary

Guggenheim Securities (“GS”) is seeking an exceptional, experienced Analyst to join its Lifesciences Investment Banking group located in London.

The Lifesciences team works with clients in the pharmaceuticals, biotechnology, medical devices, and tools and diagnostics sectors on a range of transactions including mergers and acquisitions, divestitures, collaborations and licensing, capital raising, and other strategic transactions tailored to the unique needs of our clients.

Analysts will join a highly collaborative team responsible for providing M&A advisory and capital raising (equity and fixed income) service and capabilities to corporate clients. GS offers a unique opportunity to work as part of small client teams on major strategic and financing assignments, providing meaningful exposure to senior bankers and client representatives.

Essential Job Functions

  1. Prepare and contribute to delivery of client presentations and interact with senior bankers, clients, lawyers, and accountants.
  2. Assist in the design and development of complex financial models and valuation analysis.
  3. Draft internal and client-facing documents, including management presentations, lender presentations, fairness opinions, and pitchbooks.
  4. Perform client due diligence, prepare information memoranda and other transaction-related documentation.
  5. Contribute to the creation of strategic frameworks, tools, and intellectual property to aid business development activities of the firm.
  6. Conduct competitive research, including identifying sector and industry trends.
  7. Gather and analyze information, formulate and test hypotheses, develop and communicate recommendations to senior leadership.

Preferred Qualifications

  1. Minimum of 1 year of investment banking or equivalent M&A experience.
  2. Significant level of maturity and the ability to work as a team interfacing with top company executives and senior management.
  3. Highly organized, with the initiative and ability to work with limited supervision.
  4. Excellent analytical skills and attention to detail.
  5. Strong written and oral communication skills.
  6. Effective process management abilities.

Basic Qualifications

  1. Requires a minimum of a Bachelor's degree.
  2. Core modeling and valuation experience in professional setting.
  3. SIE Exam, Series 79 and Series 63 must be acquired within 150 days of employment.

Work Location

  1. Currently, this role is expected to be in the London office at least 4 days per week.
