Responsibilities:

  • Supervise daily kitchen operations and staff.
  • Collaborate with the Executive Chef in menu planning and development.
  • Ensure high standards of food quality and safety.
  • Inspire and lead kitchen staff to create exceptional dining experiences.

Minimum Requirements:

  • Experience: Minimum of 3 years as a Sous Chef or in a similar leadership role within a culinary environment, preferably in senior living or long-term care settings.
  • Education: A degree or certification in Culinary Arts is preferred, though extensive hands-on experience will also be considered.
  • Culinary Skills: Proficiency in various cooking methods, ingredients, and equipment, with the ability to prepare a wide range of international dishes.
  • Management Skills: Strong leadership capabilities to supervise kitchen staff and manage daily operations.
  • Knowledge of Regulations: Familiarity with food safety and sanitation standards, as well as dietary restrictions relevant to senior living communities.
  • Communication: Excellent interpersonal skills to foster teamwork and maintain effective communication between kitchen staff and other departments.
  • Creativity: Ability to collaborate with the Executive Chef in menu planning and development, focusing on fresh, local ingredients that cater to residents' preferences.
  • Flexibility: Willingness to work varied shifts, including weekends and evenings, as needed.
