Job description

An exciting and challenging opportunity has arisen to establish a new executive portfolio to support the organisation’s ambition to continuously develop our approach to meeting the health needs of our population, through sustainable transformational leadership.

The Director of Transformation, Planning and Improvement is an exciting new position created as a result of the Trust Board’s commitment to ensuring that the Airedale NHS Foundation Trust continues to develop high quality and sustainable services, through embedding a culture of improvement and aligning our plans to strategic delivery for the benefit of the population we serve.

This role will be key in formulating the Trust’s new long-term strategy with the current strategy 2020-2025 in its final year. The focus will be on delivering against the portfolio in the context of being part of wave one of the Government’s New Hospital Programme. The right candidate will contribute to the development of a renewed Trust Strategy reflecting the needs of a diverse population. The postholder will be an integral member of our Executive Management Team and a voting member of the Trust Board of Directors.

As the successful candidate you will have a proven track record of the delivery of strategic transformation improvement and innovation models at scale. You will be responsible for the delivery of a cutting edge and high-quality programme management office approach to deliver Transformation, Planning and Improvement across our services. You will be an innovative, inspiring and transformational leader, who can create a compelling and inclusive vision that creates followership across the organisation.

You will have the drive and ambition to deliver a complex, challenging and exciting agenda whilst promoting an organisational culture in line with the Trust’s Vision and Values. You will positively engage colleagues, service users and other stakeholders within Place and ICB, in sustainable quality improvement and service transformation.

This represents an exciting opportunity for someone who has the vision, energy and values-based leadership to establish a completely new Directorate to deliver sustainable services now and into the future. This could also present an excellent opportunity for an aspirant Chief Executive, as the Trust will consider combining the post with the role of Deputy Chief Executive, for a candidate with appropriate skills and experience.

The Trust aspires to be truly representative of the population we serve and welcomes applications from those with diverse backgrounds and who can evidence understanding of the needs of the communities served by the Trust. If you are looking for an exciting leadership role where you can lead with ambition, then we welcome your interest and application.
