The Executive Director of Global Public Affairs and Professional Relations Europe, Middle East and Africa (EMEA) and High Growth Markets (HGM) is responsible for representing Danaher Diagnostics before Europe, Middle East, Africa, SE Asia and India (China exempted) policymakers and related stakeholders and will implement long term plans for all policy and advocacy work in prioritized states, improving healthcare delivery for patients. This position collaborates within the internal and external matrix organization to identify and pursue areas of mutual opportunity with EMEA and HGM based on policy and legislative opportunities for Danaher Diagnostics’ tests in clinical applications including infectious disease, oncology, neuroscience, and acute care, and leads important work coordinated through the Diagnostics Platform.

This position is part of the Value and Access (VA) organization and will be located in London. At Danaher Diagnostics, our vision is to be the leading provider of seamlessly connected diagnostic solutions.

In This Role, You Will Have The Opportunity To

  • Lead efforts in EMEA and HGM for government affairs initiatives to protect and advance patient access to Danaher Diagnostics tests and its business units before policymakers, elected officials, trade and business associations, as well as other allies and influencers.
  • Build the reputation of Danaher Diagnostics EMEA and HGM Government Affairs as the preferred, go-to trusted partner, honest brokers who drive for constructive solutions.
  • Establish and maintain relationships with key politicians, political advisers, non-departmental public bodies and associations or regulators to keep them advised of Danaher Diagnostics’ mission and policy concerns. This involves identifying key targets, prioritizing resources, networking with their office staffs and developing outreach and grassroots programs.
  • Stay apprised of business goals and strategies in order to assess impact to Danaher Diagnostics from EU and UK executive and regulatory activities. Consult with appropriate internal business leaders in making such determinations, providing recommendations for formulation of action plans. Cooperate with other internal functions, such as Medical and Scientific Affairs and the Commercial Team, to understand the needs of customers. Develop policy recommendations to reduce barriers and build new opportunities for customers to improve patient access to beneficial diagnostic testing.
  • Identify health care, economic and other policy developments that could impact Danaher Diagnostics’ business and operation. Proactively identify opportunities for Danaher Diagnostics to pursue favorable EMEA and HGM government policies and effectively defend Danaher Diagnostics against.

The Essential Requirements Of The Job Include

  • Bachelor’s degree with 15+ years EU/UK/EMEA or HGM-level health policy/government affairs experience or Masters or Doctoral degree with 10+ years of same experience
  • 10 years direct leadership experience
  • Demonstrated understanding of EMEA and HGM policy related to business implications through experience working in EMEA or HGM government, in health care advocacy, health policy consulting, or policy think tank.
  • Experience working with all levels of management and consulting with key internal business stakeholders, with the proven ability to influence for greater outcome
  • Strong strategic and tactical planning skills along with strong written and verbal communication skills and presentation skills
  • 20-30% Travel Required

It would be a plus if you also possess previous experience in:

  • 15+ years of direct leadership experience
