Who we are
Established in 2014, the Investor Forum is a not-for-profit, membership organisation at the forefront of investor stewardship practice in the UK. It is an exciting time for us with the recent appointment of our new CEO and the launch of a new “Investor & Issuer Forum” initiative in September 2024. We work with our 50+ member firms on projects, events and engagements, and interact with a wide variety of stakeholders in the financial services industry.
Overview
This role is at the heart of the action, largely focused on supporting the CEO and the MD of the I&IF. It will involve coordinating meetings, roundtables, and events with senior stakeholders across the ecosystem, and liaising with Investor Forum Board members and our I&IF Steering Committee. There is also a small team of eight people, and this role provides support with general administrative and operational tasks to ensure the smooth running of the organisation. Candidates should be able to work independently and as part of a team, take the initiative, and prioritise a wide variety of activities effectively.
Responsibilities
Diary support and co-ordinating activities
- Day-to-day support for the CEO and Managing Director - I&IF, including diary and email management, and meeting coordination.
- Organising in-person and online events, including managing the attendee list and liaising with venues on catering and tech needs.
Database and marketing support
- Maintaining company’s CRM (Salesforce): managing contacts, creating reports, keeping up to date with release updates, weekly data backup etc.
- Assisting with the preparation of presentations, publications and template documents, ensuring format and brand consistency.
- Setting up email campaigns and business social media posts.
- Uploading content and editing the website in WordPress (ad hoc support with third party agency).
General office administration
- Liaising with suppliers and third parties, and oversight of the physical environment in collaboration with the Finance & Operations Manager.
- General practical, technical and administrative support to the wider team as required.
Skills and Experience
Essential
- Thrives as part of a fast-paced environment
- Excellent verbal and written communication skills
- Strong organisational skills with impeccable attention to detail
- Previous experience supporting senior stakeholders in a corporate environment
- Experience of managing a varied workload, prioritising effectively with a proactive approach
- Ability to build and maintain relationships with contacts at all levels
- Strong IT skills in Microsoft 365 suite (including Word, Excel, PPT, Teams), a good understanding of SharePoint
- Experience in database management and use of CRM platform, such as Salesforce, Mailchimp and Eventbrite
- Ability to learn new technology and platforms effectively
Desirable
- Interest in capital markets
- Experience with Wordpress
- Affinity with using social media, especially LinkedIn for business
- Familiarity with accounting software, such as Xero
- 5 plus years’ experience in a professional working environment.
Package
- Flexible position, equivalent to 4 days per week
- £41,400 pa year, comprising a £36,000 pro rata and a £5,400 cash allowance in lieu of benefits. (FTE: £51,750 pa), plus discretionary bonus.
- 23 days paid annual holiday
- The role is hybrid - with a mix of time in our central-London office, and home working
