About The Role

We are seeking a highly motivated and organised Executive Assistant to support the Bone and Joint Health Group within the Centre of Neuroscience, Surgery and Trauma at the Blizard Institute and The Academic Centre for Healthy Ageing (ACHA). This role will involve direct support for Professor Simpson and Professor Dell-Accio, focusing on various administrative and operational tasks essential for the smooth running of the group.

This is a fantastic opportunity to work within a leading academic institution at the forefront of research in musculoskeletal health. You will play a pivotal role in facilitating research initiatives and supporting the day-to-day operations of a dynamic academic team.

Key Responsibilities
  • Manage and coordinate the diaries of Professor Simpson and Professor Dell’Accio, scheduling meetings and appointments efficiently.
  • Act as an informed gatekeeper for the Bone & Joint Health Group, ensuring relevant information is communicated effectively.
  • Support day-to-day operations of the group, including organising and facilitating meetings and events.
About You

With previous experience of diary management, you are an organised and proactive professional with A-Level (or equivalent) qualifications or equivalent experience. Your excellent attention to detail and strong problem-solving skills enable you to manage tasks efficiently in a busy environment. You thrive in collaborative settings and possess strong team-working abilities.

About The School/Department/Institute/Project

The Blizard Institute was established in 2003 and is one of six Institutes within the Faculty of Medicine and Dentistry, QMUL. The Institute comprises approximately 350 staff based in four academic Centres and one Public Engagement Centre, and supports a combined total of c750 postgraduate research and taught students. The Institute aims to deliver excellence in all aspects of research, teaching and clinical service.

The Academic Centre for Healthy Ageing (ACHA) is a pioneering and really exciting collaborative venture between Barts Health NHS Trust, Queen Mary University of London funded by Barts Charity. The goal is to create an internationally leading centre for healthy ageing.
