Salary: £26,250 per annum

Working hours: 5 days per week and evening work where necessary

Holiday: 20 days paid leave in addition to public holidays and 3 days between Christmas and New Year

This is an opportunity for someone in the early stages of their career who is keen to learn about the day-to-day running of a theatre company.

As Executive Assistant, you will be at the heart of the organisation providing comprehensive support to the Executive Director. You will be a central point of communication for the Executive Director within the organisation and the initial contact for Trustees. The Executive Assistant is a position requiring discretion and confidentiality. The successful candidate will have access to a range of information and have insight into strategic ambitions and planning of the company.

This post requires someone who enjoys organisational and administrative tasks, who can be confident and personable when communicating whether in person, over the phone or email, and who enjoys multi-tasking, prioritising workload, and forward planning in a fast-paced and dynamic environment.

Knowledge, skills and experience

Essential

  1. Proven organisational skills and an ability to prioritise a wide variety of tasks to meet multiple deadlines.
  2. Exceptionally strong planning, administration, organisational and people skills.
  3. Experience of complex diary management.
  4. Experienced and timely minute taker who can work in detail with speed, accuracy, and professional discretion.
  5. Ability to identify and interpret matters of urgency, prioritise workload, and action accordingly.
  6. Ability to work autonomously with minimal direction, as well as collaboratively within a wider team.
  7. A confident approach and ability to meet changing deadlines and respond proactively to internal and external pressures.
  8. A professional attitude with respect for discretion and confidentiality.
  9. Excellent verbal and written communication skills.
  10. Excellent numerical skills.
  11. Excellent IT skills, particularly in MS Office packages, Outlook diaries, Accounting Software, Dropbox and Gmail/Drives.
  12. Excellent interpersonal skills.
  13. Professional attitude, especially under pressure with deadlines and conflicting interests.

Desirable

  1. Enthusiasm for the arts and/or experience working in a creative environment.
  2. Experience of working in a professional theatre environment.
  3. Experience of working in a charity or with a board of trustees.
