Job description

Are you an inspiring people leader with a passion for organising and helping others to get things done?

Known internally as a Business Services Lead, you’ll provide support to our Regional Director for National Trust London & South East Region, working with her to manage her time, workload, and priorities.

You will also lead a small team of Business Services Coordinators to innovate and improve our processes and to ensure that our colleagues across London & South East are fully supported to be at their very best in all they do.

To apply, please submit your CV and Cover Letter, telling us how you meet the requirements and will excel in this role.

Interviews will be held on Tuesday 22nd April with an expected informal meet the following week, Monday 28th April, with the Regional Director.

What it's like to work here

As this role covers the London and South East region, your contractual place of work will be the nearest National Trust consultancy office to your home (Polesden Lacey, Scotney Castle, Hughenden Manor, or Micheldever). Our hybrid working policy means you can balance office and home working with site visits and meetings at other National Trust places. We’ll talk about this in more detail at interview, but you should expect to be at a National Trust site for 40–60% of your working week. We're a flexible employer and supportive of helping you find a healthy work-life balance.

What you'll be doing

The National Trust is dynamic, with no two days the same. We're looking for an experienced Executive Assistant with strong organisational skills who can juggle priorities so the Regional Director can focus on strategic decisions. You'll act as a trusted confidant who keeps operations running smoothly and will be comfortable building virtual relationships and providing remote support, as the Regional Director travels frequently. Travel across the South East Region, including to our London office, is required.

Who we're looking for

We're looking for someone who has:

  • Experience of effective and proactive logistical and strategic support to senior leaders
  • Ability to maintain confidentiality of information
  • Confidence to build meaningful relationships with a wide range of stakeholders, both internal and external, in person and virtually; build a trusting relationship with the Regional Director.
  • Ability to prioritise and manage own and others’ ever-changing workloads
  • Ability to work under pressure and meet deadlines
  • Clear and strong communication skills

The package

The National Trust has the motto ‘For everyone, for ever’ at its heart. We’re working hard to create an inclusive culture, where everyone feels they belong. It’s important that our people reflect and represent the diversity of the communities and audiences we serve. We welcome and value difference, so when we say we’re for everyone, we want everyone to be welcome in our teams too.

  • Substantial pension scheme of up to 10% basic salary
  • Free entry to National Trust places for you, a guest, and your children (under 18)
