Blue Arrow Derby have an exciting opportunity. We are currently recruiting exam invigilators for the leading education provider in Derby, ready to support the busy exam season in May 2025. This is a great opportunity to help support Derby's largest education provider and its students.

This is a temporary position taking place for 4/5 weeks between 19th May to 11th June 2025. You also must be available for the training date which will be 14th or 15th May from 9 am to 12 pm on-site at the University of Derby.

About the Exam Invigilator Role:

You would be working as a key member of the team alongside experienced invigilators, working within a busy environment.

What the duties will include for the exam invigilator role:
  1. Preparing the exam room as required by the examination board.
  2. Ensuring there is the necessary equipment for each exam.
  3. Ensuring that the students adhere to the exam rules i.e. no talking.
  4. Assisting with any issues that arise during the examination.
  5. Assisting with any persons needing to leave the examination hall.
  6. Reading and scribing to students when needed.
  7. Reporting any disruptions.
  8. Collecting and sorting exam papers.
  9. Liaising and working with the Exams Team.
  10. Assisting with general admin tasks when necessary.
About You:
  1. Excellent communication skills.
  2. Good use of initiative.
  3. Work well as part of a team.
  4. Work well individually.
  5. Previous admin or customer service experience is desirable.
  6. Ability to be flexible and multi-task where required.
  7. Well organized.
What training is needed for the exam invigilator role:

No experience is needed for the invigilating role as full training will be provided. It is important that you attend one training session only, and all invigilators (returning and new) must attend this training to be able to carry out the invigilating. Exact time/dates for training sessions are to be confirmed. Training will consist of a PowerPoint presentation, interactive activities, and a guided tour around the site.

The commute:

Located just outside of Derby City Centre, this location would suit anyone with their own transport in Derby or the surrounding areas. The site is also easily commutable via bus services, as there are bus stops just outside the site. Free on-site parking is available (for training and these 2 weeks only). There are also canteens and other on-site facilities available.
