Position: Exam Invigilator

Start Date: March 2025

Contract Type: Casual

Hours: Hours to be confirmed ahead of each examination period. 37 hour contract, hours will be worked during term time, some training is delivered at Inset. 52.143 pay weeks.

Pay: G2 SCP3: £24,027. Hourly rate £12.45

Location: Leek High School & Westwood College; however, you may be required to support and work with colleagues at other schools across the Trust.

Thank you for your interest in the post of Exam Invigilator at the Talentum Learning Trust. The Trust comprises of 9 schools within and around the town of Leek in the Staffordshire Moorlands, which includes Leek High School and Westwood College. The Trust promotes high aspirations and excellence for all; our aim is to develop a strong partnership between the academies, students, and the wider community to secure an outstanding learning experience for everyone. We have high expectations and strive to create independent learners fit for the demands of the 21st Century.

We are seeking individuals to assist with exam invigilation and also to support students with access arrangements which could include being a ‘reader’ and a ‘scribe’. Duties will include:

  • Preparing exam halls and rooms
  • Setting out documentation
  • Supervising candidates during exams
  • Assisting with seating
  • Ensuring school procedures are adhered to

Invigilators need to be reliable and punctual, empathetic towards our students, able to follow instructions, and able to stand/walk about for up to 3 hours. A flexible approach is important as unexpected situations may arise during exams. A committed approach to your allocated dates is vital.

No previous experience is required; new invigilators will be fully trained, mostly by shadowing experienced invigilators during our mock weeks and with specific training sessions delivered throughout the year as required.

The hours of work will be agreed in advance, and we can be very flexible with each Invigilator as we understand you may have other commitments. Exact dates will be confirmed well in advance, with the possibility of additional sessions being offered later as unexpected situations arise.
