Job description

Event Assistant - Key University Events

About The University
Join a dynamic team at the University of Wolverhampton, a globally-minded institution dedicated to transforming lives through education. We believe in the power of transformative experiences. Our events are at the heart of our brand, enhancing our reputation, providing compelling signals of excellence to a global audience. We're seeking a creative and driven professional to join our team and help us deliver exceptional events that leave a lasting impression.

About The Team
Our Recruitment, Partnerships, Marketing and Admissions Directorate is a diverse and supportive group of individuals who are passionate about the University, its brand, and attracting new potential students to the university. We value diversity of thought and experience, and we are committed to creating an inclusive and collaborative environment where everyone feels valued and empowered to contribute their best. We can offer flexible working hours and all work on a hybrid working model (onsite and remote) to support a balanced and fulfilling work-life experience.

About The Role
Reporting to the Events Manager, you’ll play a key role in the University’s dynamic events team, overseeing and reporting on multiple internal and external events simultaneously. You will work closely with the Events Manager to collaborate with external partners, enhance the University’s reputation, and ensure successful execution of events. Additionally, you’ll provide valuable guidance to various departments on event management best practices, ensuring smooth and effective operations across all activities.

About You
You are an experienced and highly organised event professional with a strong understanding of what makes a successful event. With exceptional attention to detail, you’ll thrive in a fast-paced environment where you juggle competing demands while maintaining a strong customer service focus. You’ll bring a solution-oriented mindset, always aiming to enhance the visitor experience at every touchpoint.

Key Attributes Include

  1. Event Expertise: A proven track record of successfully organising and delivering events that make a positive impact.
  2. Driven & Customer-Focused: You take pride in providing excellent service, with a flexible and hardworking approach to handling diverse responsibilities.
  3. Collaborative Team Player: You understand the importance of teamwork and will work seamlessly with colleagues and stakeholders across the University to ensure alignment and consistent event standards.
  4. Calm Under Pressure: You remain composed and efficient even in high-pressure situations, maintaining quality while balancing multiple priorities.

Your commitment to creating memorable, well-organised events will help ensure the University's events consistently meet the highest standards.

This is an exciting opportunity to make a real impact on the future of our team and the university as a whole. If you are an enthusiastic, organised, great at problem solving and creative individual with a desire to make a real difference, we would love to hear from you.

Some work outside of ‘normal’ working hours required to support events; Flexi time and TOIL is in place to manage working hours.

We welcome applications from all backgrounds and nationalities.
