Events and Marketing Officer (Headquarters, Kent) Maternity Cover

Location of Role: Maidstone

Starting Salary: £40,170.00 (pro-rata for part-time vacancies)

Part/Full Time: Full Time

Contract Type: Secondment/fixed-term

Working Pattern: Mon-Fri

An exciting opportunity has arisen to join Kent Police’s Corporate Communications team on a fixed term maternity cover contract.

Applications are invited from motivated individuals who have experience in designing, developing and delivering events and marketing, as part of a communications team which provides a high-quality service for the force.

This versatile role requires the successful candidate to develop publicity campaigns both internally and externally which reflect the force’s commitment to providing a first-class service to the people of Kent.

The post holder will be required to work across the force and with external partners and suppliers to deliver events for a range of different targeted audiences, whilst also being able to satisfy corporate identity standards and guidelines. They will also be able to understand complex and sensitive issues and implement communications plans with competing deadlines.

An ability to monitor and review their own work for future learning, as well as stay up to date with best practices within the marketing, social networking and communications industries are both vital. A knowledge of policing is desirable but not essential.

Reporting to the Head of Digital, Internal Communications and Marketing, the successful candidate will be able to demonstrate experience in using a broad range of communications materials and channels as well as provide sound professional events and marketing advice to officers and staff of all ranks.

Kent Police offer incremental increases within this salary band, therefore the salary for this position will rise to a maximum of £45,591.00.
