Job responsibilities

We are seeking welfare assistants to work in a fast-paced, busy team supporting the medical team in respect of welfare and safeguarding concerns during events that take place around the U.K. The role requires an ability to work well as part of a team and in partnership with other teams, including stewards, catering staff, security, police, ambulance staff, and the medical team.

We are looking for people who can:

  • Take responsibility for safeguarding and welfare of both children and adults.
  • Communicate effectively with parents/carers, children, and other professionals.
  • Understand de-escalation tactics and work with conflict.
  • Advise and support other members of staff on welfare, safeguarding, and child protection matters, and liaise with relevant agencies when required.
  • Prioritise children and vulnerable adults' needs and provide them with the required support, including when linked to police action.
  • Work with other professionals including Welfare & Safeguarding team members, Stewards, Police, Medics, Ambulance teams, and Control.
  • Demonstrate excellent organisational skills and flexibility with strong interpersonal and communication skills, including ICT.
  • Work well as part of a team.
Person Specification
Experience
  • You have to be at least 18 years old.
  • Be flexible to work shifts (some are through the night).
  • A great big smile and willingness to help. You are part of a caring, supportive team who are there to help.
Qualifications
  • UK driving licence.
