As we expand our reach and continue to build our team, we are looking for a passionate Staffing Manager to join us on this exciting journey.

THE ROLE

We are looking for an experienced Staffing Manager to join our rapidly growing events team. You will be responsible for overseeing the recruitment, coordination, and management of all event day staff and volunteers, ensuring our events run smoothly, and leading the staffing team.

Key Responsibilities:

1. Lead, motivate and manage a small team of staffing executives, ensuring they are aligned with the company’s goals.
2. Conduct regular performance reviews and provide feedback and support to team members.
3. Oversee the recruitment process for volunteers and paid event staff, ensuring we achieve targets.
4. Develop strategies to attract and retain quality staff and volunteers.
5. Act as a key point of contact between the staffing team and event operations teams, ensuring clear and effective communication.
6. Manage staffing logistics for events, ensuring all positions are filled and duties are being carried out as required.

Event delivery:

1. Collaborate with the event team to plan and execute events.
2. Assist in setting up, managing, and dismantling event sites, ensuring that all elements meet our high standards.
3. Support with the delivery of events as Event Village team member/lead on event days.
4. Active participation in debriefs after events.
5. Interact with the wider running community to enhance reputation and engagement.
6. Create new relationships with runners who come to our events.

Personal Specification:

1. Have the ability to motivate others and create strong team dynamics.
2. Have a genuine interest in working in live events, an interest in running/sport and be a fast learner.
3. Be comfortable speaking to people from different backgrounds, building relationships and helping the team to grow out marshal and volunteer community.
4. Experience managing a team, with strong leadership skills.
5. Experience working with volunteers or large groups.

Essential:

1. Competent in Excel and data analysis for tracking volunteer targets & KPIs.
2. Able to work to strict deadlines and calm under pressure.
3. Excellent written and spoken communication skills.
4. Strong time management skills.
5. Ability to carry out manual tasks.
6. Desire to learn, develop and advance personal career prospects.
7. Passion for delivering faultless events with a customer-centric focus.
8. Willing to work on weekends (Start: 5-6am | Finish: 12pm-2pm) on a rota basis (average of 2 weekends per month).
9. Full UK manual Driving Licence and willing to drive a van.

Desirable:

1. Experience working live events.
2. Keen interest in and knowledge of running and sport.
3. Previous experience driving a van.
4. Personable and confident in social situations.
5. Strong organisational and multitasking abilities, with excellent problem-solving and negotiation skills.
