European Payroll Administrator - 6-month fixed term contract

Hybrid working arrangement - 3 days a week to be based at our European HQ in Erdington.

Claire's is a global brand at the forefront of fashion and accessories, and our people are at the heart of our success. We are currently looking for a Payroll Specialist to support our payroll operations in Germany, Belgium, and Eastern Europe.

This role offers an exciting opportunity to contribute to a fast-paced, international environment where accuracy, efficiency, and collaboration are key.

What You'll Be Doing:

As a Payroll Specialist, you will play a vital role in ensuring payroll data is accurately collected, processed, and validated in line with each country's payroll cycle. Key responsibilities include:

  1. Gathering and checking payroll data from Workday before submitting it to our payroll providers.
  2. Running validation reports and spotting any errors before payroll is processed.
  3. Supporting managers and employees with payroll-related questions in line with our Service Level Agreements (SLA).
  4. Partnering with management teams, offering guidance and training to ensure accurate and timely payroll submissions.
  5. Collaborating with payroll providers to quickly resolve any issues.
  6. Reviewing payroll reports and payment files to ensure everything is correct.
  7. Managing bonus payments, salary reviews, and responding to ad-hoc requests.
  8. Keeping our payroll Knowledge Base up to date with country-specific processes.
  9. Helping with systems testing, payroll-related projects, and training initiatives.

What We're Looking For:

  1. Solid payroll experience, especially across multiple EU countries.
  2. Year-end payroll process knowledge and a solid understanding of payroll compliance.
  3. Intermediate Excel skills with a strong analytical mindset.
  4. A high level of accuracy and attention to detail, ensuring payroll is processed efficiently.
  5. A collaborative approach, with the ability to prioritise tasks in a dynamic environment.
  6. A proactive mindset, seeking opportunities to improve processes and solve problems effectively.

Location & Work Arrangement:

  • Hybrid (3 days a week in our European HQ in Birmingham, UK).
  • This is a 6-month contract to support our payroll transformation project.

This is an excellent opportunity to work within an international team, gain exposure to multi-country payroll processes, and contribute to a key transformation project within a globally recognised brand.

Claire's is an equal opportunity employer committed to diversity, equity and inclusion and we encourage applications from members of all underrepresented groups, including those with disabilities. We will accommodate applicants' needs, upon request, throughout all stages of the recruitment process. Please inform us of the accommodation(s) that you may require.
