American Express adopts the "three lines of defense" approach to risk management. The first line (ICS Risk & Control) is responsible for implementing controls to mitigate and manage risks across the business. Within ICS Risk and Control, the Regulatory Change Management team implement regulatory initiatives to meet our compliance obligations, within the timescales set out by the competent authorities across varied jurisdictions. These are often complex multi-market change initiatives.
The team are seeking an experienced Programme Manager to establish / optimise and administrate a robust programme management office function for the EU Regulatory change delivery team including standardised process and documentation to effectively manage holistic needs across the team.
We are looking for individuals who are driven, dynamic, intellectually curious, able to successfully manage ambiguity and enjoy working with teams across the enterprise to deliver change.
Within the program’s remit, each initiative is studded with many business and technology milestones. These regulatory changes focus on multiple EU markets but can cover multiple lines of business and platforms and are often multi-year deliverables that need careful monitoring and tracking. As well as foundational PMO functions, this colleague will lead by example with a risk PMO mindset understanding the business needs, and making sure execution is in line with goals and needs of ICS. The programme manager helps to manage, report, escalate and resolve key risks & mitigants across all important categories (a) regulatory, (b) technology execution, (c) business execution and (d) client / customer impact.
