Key Responsibilities:

  1. Deliver tailored sessions to pupils for core subjects such as Mathematics, English and Science and ESOL.
  2. Be able to adapt to each student’s personal learning styles and to bring out the best in each student.
  3. Track student progress and be able to communicate to their parents.
  4. Help students develop essential study habits, improve academic performance, and build confidence.
  5. Create a positive and motivating environment where children feel safe to explore and ask questions drawing on trauma-informed and therapeutic techniques where possible.

Ideal Candidate:

  1. Proven experience in successfully tutoring or teaching children.
  2. Experience in one to one tutoring or alternative education settings is highly desirable.
  3. Extensive knowledge of child development and effective educational techniques.
  4. Patient, compassionate and able to create engaging and interactive lessons.
  5. Must be emotionally resilient and able to build rapport with young people.
  6. Excellent communication skills being able to clearly explain concepts in an individualised manner.
  7. Experience working with children with special educational needs is a plus.
