Equity and Rights Manager

Grade A: £52,737 (National Framework) or £58,139 (London Framework – if you are London office based or homebased and live within the boundary of the M25) – There is also an additional homeworking allowance of £553 per annum for those working from home. For part-time roles – please note this will be pro rata.

Contracted Hours: Full-time 37 hours per week or Part-time, at least 29.5 hours per week. Job-share will be considered. Talk to us about compressed hours.

Contract Type: Permanent opportunity

Location: Home-based, flexible location. Office-based, flexible location. Hybrid working (working a part of the week from home - 2 days).

We are now looking for an Equity and Rights Manager to join us on a full-time, permanent basis, working 37 hours per week. Part-time applications will be considered, with a minimum of 29.5 hours per week, and job-share or compressed hours options available.

What you will bring…

To be considered as our Equity and Rights Manager, you will need:

  • Proven experience managing equality, health inequalities, or human rights functions.
  • Expertise in public sector equality and human rights duties, particularly within health and/or social care.
  • Strong commitment to anti-discriminatory practices, demonstrated through policy development, project leadership, and training initiatives.
  • Exceptional communication and listening skills to engage with stakeholders, including at Executive and Board level.
  • Experience in people and project management within a complex environment.

What you’ll be doing…

As an Equity and Rights Manager, you will champion equality and human rights within CQC, driving impactful changes across our organisation and the wider industry. Specifically, you will develop and implement policies and strategies to address equality, health inequalities, and human rights, ensuring CQC meets its statutory obligations and fosters best practices. You will also work across our sector and throughout the public sector ensuring all organisations meet their obligations in terms of equality and human rights.

Additionally, you will:

  • Help to develop policies and practices promoting anti-discriminatory approaches.
  • Build and maintain strong relationships with internal teams and external stakeholders.
  • Manage and mentor staff, fostering an inclusive and productive team environment.
