Equipment Mechanic

Job Description

We are looking for a Mechanic to join our team! You will be responsible for repairing various vehicles and transmission systems.

Responsibilities:

• Repair Automobiles, Trucks, Backhoes, Loaders and other motor vehicles
• Perform routine vehicle maintenance
• Use diagnostic tools to test vehicle components
• Perform quality inspections prior to returning the vehicle to the customer

Qualifications:

• Previous experience as a mechanic
• Knowledge of shop equipment
• Strong mechanical aptitude and troubleshooting skills
• Deadline and detail-oriented
• Ability to thrive in a fast-paced environment
• Must have own tools
• Welding experience a plus

Primary Responsibilities:

• Diagnose and repair equipment using diagnostic tools appropriate to the equipment type
• Perform routine preventive maintenance procedures
• Complete all service reports and submit on a timely basis
• Proactively communicate with Equipment Manager concerning equipment and job-related projects
• Inspect and ensure safety devices are functional – such as back up alarms, fire extinguishers, seat belts, horns, etc.
• Exercise proper care and maintenance of company equipment
• Work more than 40 hours per week and overtime including some weekends
• Perform additional assignments per Supervisor’s direction

Requirements:

• Must have a clean driving record
• High school graduate or equivalent
• Prefer completion of Heavy Equipment/Diesel Technology program from accredited vocational or technical school
• Prefer three years of experience in a related field
• Ability to properly diagnose and repair hydraulics, powertrain, electrical, etc.
• Read, understand and use service and operation manuals for reference
• Operate tools and equipment used to repair construction equipment
• FL CDL
• Pre-employment drug screening required
