As a Product Architect, you will be responsible for the design definition of currently in service systems on UK and Export platforms, within the Land and Maritime theatres of operation. This is a great chance for you to work on high profile, international engineering programmes and take responsibility for the further evolution of this system capability.

You will be responsible for maintaining the depth and breadth of understanding of this complex system in the context of the weapon system application, using the latest system engineering tools and methodologies, and ensuring that the system is specified and performs in a manner which meets the certification standards required for each of the customers. In this role, you will be expected to have a high level of engagement across a variety of technical aspects, including system design, software engineering, electronics and mechanical engineering, in-service reliability and support, safety, cybersecurity and other disciplines. In addition, you will need to ensure the hardware and software design continues to evolve in order to meet the demand of the overall system capability expected by our customers.

You will be supported in achieving career development goals alongside experienced professionals within the team and the wider MBDA organisation.

  • Systems engineering principles, processes and practices.
  • Requirements engineering at System, Subsystem or Component level.
  • Knowledge associated with the design and build of hardware and software for computer based electronics equipment.
  • Awareness of test procedures required to verify products and the gathering of evidence to enable certification.
  • Confidence in presenting technical engineering information and promoting decision making.
  • Experience of technical report writing and use of configuration management tools (e.g. Windchill, RTC, Dimensions, etc.).
